Welcome to Airplay Specialists Radio Promotion!
Thank you for visiting our site. Our offices are located in the heart of Nashville's Music Row. We've been successfully promoting singles to country radio since 2002. Our clients include both indie and major label artists. If your track sounds good, if your song is strong, if it's professionally recorded, and if it's 'country radio friendly' then we welcome the chance to work with you...no matter what size your label is.
Which Stations does Airplay Specialists call?
Airplay Specialists call 375 stations including: 260 Secondary non-reporting stations (with retail impact); the Music Row reporting stations (report to the Music Row Magazine chart); the New Music Weekly reporting stations (report to the New Music Weekly Magazine chart); half the Texas Chart reporting stations (we've found that approximately half the Texas reporting stations are reluctant to play artists that are not from Texas, therefore we call the ones that are willing to play artists from all regions); half the Americana reporting stations (our clients tend to be more Country than Americana, therefore we only call those Americana stations that include country music as part of their mix). Additionally, we call on some of the R&R Indicator stations (stations that the R&R reporting stations watch to gauge activity and spin power).
SECONDARY NON-REPORTING COUNTRY STATIONS
Airplay Specialists call 260 Secondary non-reporting country stations. These stations don't report to any of the charts but, they are extremely important, especially with regard to breaking new artists and selling CDs. The major market stations play mostly major label artists and in recent years they've become less cooperative about playing new acts, especially new indie label acts. Therefore, small markets are more essential than ever for career development...they can also account for a large percentage of CD sales.
55% of all country listeners live in small market regions of the country. 86% of Country music is sold because of the country radio station in the local (Secondary) market.
Bottom line: Secondary radio sells CDs!
My single is on CDX and all those stations have my song, so they're automatically playing it, right?
This is usually not the case. Remember, your track is one of ten or more artists on the CDX compilation disc. Radio stations give priority to artists they're familiar with (Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Rodney Atkins, Pat Green, Lucinda Williams, etc.). New artists and indie artists can and do receive airplay on these stations however, it's not automatic. When stations are deciding to add a new or indie artist to their playlist, the artist with the advantage is the one who has a professional radio promoter calling music and program directors on their behalf, encouraging radio to give the artist priority consideration.
Why do I need a radio promoter and what do they do?
Why? Because radio programmers not only rely on the recommendations of the radio promoter, they also recognize the fact that, if an artist is serious enough about his/her career to hire a professional promoter to represent them at radio, then the artist deserves a serious listen. Remember, in radio, the squeaky wheel does get the grease. Our job at Airplay Specialists is to "squeak" for you and for your track and consistently bring it to the attention of programmers week after week. Our first objective is to get them to LISTEN. Our second objective is to get them to TEST it with their listeners. If the listeners like it, we continue to encourage the station to give your song more and more spins each week.

What are the benefits of national airplay at radio?
As stated above, even if you're track is on CDX, what good does it do if no one knows who you are, where you're from, where listeners can purchase your music and, most importantly, WHICH STATIONS ARE PLAYING YOUR SINGLE...? Airplay Specialists provides a bi-monthly progressive radio tracking report (on the 15th and the 30th of each month) to you, your label and/or your management. Our detailed report provides the following information:
1) Call letters, city, and state, of each station
2) Which stations are playing your track
3) How many spins/rotation level is your song receiving
4) Wattage (how many watts) each station has
5) General marketing region of each station
6) Retail stores in the area of each station
7) Live performance venues in the area of each station
Airplay location helps your distributor determine priority placement of your CD in the marketplace, resulting in increased retail sales and better SoundScan reports in those regions.
How does Airplay Specialists acquire the reports?
We have three staff members on the phones Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., every week of the year (except the week between Christmas and New Year's Day). Since 2002, when we first began our company, we have carefully cultivated our relationships with the stations we call. We know the people at our stations. They know the people at our company. Because of our history with these stations, we're able to acquire the necessary information regarding the status of your single. We provide them with news regarding your career, tour dates, TV appearances, etc. We also encourage them to schedule a phone interview or live in-studio interview with you, as well as special promotion product give-aways featuring your CDs, T-shirts, concession items, etc.
How does it work and how much does it cost?
We are competitively priced with a retainer fee of $3500.00 for the life of the single which is fourteen weeks (3 1/2 months). This fee includes promotion to our Secondary Impact, New Music Weekly, Americana, and Texas stations. If you would like us to also promote your single to the Music Row reporting stations, an additional $500.00 is required. Here is a summary of our price options:
